Teen With Progeria Ageing Syndrome Celebrates Milestone 15th Birthday

Nihal Bitla is a  teenager with a ultra-rare genetic condition that makes him look like an old man has defied doctors to celebrate his 15th birthday.
He lives in Bhiwandi  on the outskirts of Mumbai, and has Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS).This syndrome is leading the aging of  his body eight times faster than normal people.This rare  condition  has leaved him bald, with heavy wrinkles and severely weakened limbs.

Average life expectancy of children with pro*geria is 14. Many of them d!es from a heart condition where the arteries become hard and narrow  which is usually affected to adults over 60.As a result of this heart conditions, children with progeria are prone to heart attacks and strokes aged ten or under.But Nihal blew out the candles on his 15th birthday cake on January 20. This 15th birthday blew out of the candles has made him the oldest living child diagnosed with progeria in India.

Despite of big challenge in his life, he is positive about his future. He believes that he is a special child rather than a victim of a diseases which is gift by God to him. Like every normal boys, he also loves to play with the computer games. He is of caring nature and child-like innocence for everyone who knows him. However, his body is that of an elderly man, with wrinkled leathery skin,and a bald enlarged head and withered limbs.His mind will remain young, but his body will age and his health will deteriorate in the years to come.
